Newborn Session FAQs

Do you have a studio?

We don’t have a studio yet but we’ll sure announce as soon as we do.

If you don’t have a studio, where will we do our session then?

All our sessions are done in the clients home or other indoor location (e.g., hotels) that the client prefers. No matter the location, just make sure that it has ample space. We will be needing at least about 3 meters x 2.5 meters of empty floor space. If your space is smaller than this, kindly let us know during the pre-session consultation.

Why do you need such a big space even if the baby is so tiny?

We will not only be photographing your baby up close. Our whole setup includes a backdrop stand and lighting equipment. Plus, we’ll have to take a shot from a distance to capture the best angles, especially in your family portraits.

Do you offer photography services outside of Metro Manila?

Yes, we do!
We are available for photography sessions within Metro Manila, and anywhere else by special request. Note that a minimum surcharge of ₱2,000 applies to certain areas.

What are the payment terms?

A signed agreement and a non-refundable retainer fee equivalent to 50% of the total package rate is required upon booking to reserve your session date. For ala carte digital and print purchases, full payment is required prior to editing or ordering.

What modes of payment do you accept?

We accept payments via BPI, BDO, RCBC, Unionbank, GCash, Paypal (transaction fees apply).

When is the best time to book a session?

You can book your session as early as your second trimester of pregnancy to give us ample time to prepare.
This is also to ensure that, for newborn sessions, by the time your baby is born, a slot is already reserved for you as we could get fully booked fast.

I don’t know yet my baby’s birthday, how will I know what date to reserve?

Booking early for a newborn session does not mean you have to commit to a specific date even if your baby isn't born yet. Once your booking has been confirmed, we will reserve a time frame for you based on your due date then once the baby has arrived, just inform us so we can finalize your session date.

How long will the newborn session take?

A newborn session can last up to 4 hours to provide ample time for feeding, change of nappies, and settling the baby. Newborns get hungry often (and also poop more often) so the flow of the session will depend entirely on the baby.

From experience, when our Prep Guide is followed, we can be in and out the door in less than 2 hours.

How old should my baby be for newborn photography?

Newborns are best photographed between 5 to 14 days from birth while they are still in the sleepy and curly stage, making them easier to pose and swaddle.

My baby is already one month old. Can you still accommodate us for a newborn session?

If you found out about us just now and your baby is already 4 to 5 weeks old, we can accommodate you as long as we still have an available slot within the next 7 days. Note that older babies are more alert and not as flexible, so some newborn poses may not anymore be possible.

Do you provide all the props you use?

Big yes to that!
We have a wide selection of locally- and internationally-sourced props - from headbands to backdrops - each one purchased to fit our style. As you may have noticed, we love colors so our newborn outfits, wraps, even headbands are available in almost every color of the rainbow. But if you love neutrals, don’t fret - we have those, too.

I have props that I bought for my baby. Can we use that in our newborn session with you, too?

We’d gladly do that for you.
Just inform us upon booking and send us some photos of the props beforehand so we can plan how to use them.
If you have items of significance that you want included as prop, we can do that as well.

Do you clean your props?

Absolutely!
Everything that touches your baby's skin is washed with a mild baby detergent after every session. Once cleaned, these are stored in separate storage bins in our dedicated props room ready to be used for the next session. Other non-washable props such as baskets, wooden bed, etc. are wiped and sprayed with a disinfectant before they are used for your session.

Are the poses even safe for my baby?

All the poses you see in our portfolio are done with utmost care. Note that we only do poses we have been trained to do. Dianne is proud to be one of the few newborn photographers in the Philippines who have been trained by world-renowned photographers. We pose babies in a manner where there is less movement so the baby won't get disturbed or hurt.

Can my yaya just pose my baby instead?

Please be aware that during the session, Dianne will be the only one allowed to pose the baby with the help of an assistant. For safety, we won’t allow nannies or anyone else to experiment on poses during our session as it is not as simple as putting a baby down on the bed to sleep. We will NEVER force a pose your baby is not comfortable with and we only do poses we already trained for.

What are proofs and what is the proofing gallery?

Proofs are culled, soft edited best images from your session, presented to you through an online gallery where you can choose your final images from. Any blurred, out of focus shots, duplicates, or test shots are already eliminated so you can spend more of your time and energy in choosing your final images only from the best images we can provide.

Will I get a copy of all the proofs?

Take note that you will not get copy of the proofs, but only the final images you selected.

How and when will I get the proofing gallery link?

The link to the proofing gallery will be provided to you within 3 business days after the session.

How many final images will I get and how will I get them?

Delivery of digital final images will be through a separate private online gallery and/or a USB. You'll be receiving the number of final images indicated in your package plus the additional ones you purchased, if any. Note that final images will be in JPEG format only.

Will I get a copy of the original files, raw files, and unedited files?

At no time will original files, raw, or unedited images be provided as these are not finished products and do not represent the Photographer's style. We spend more hours after the session hand editing each piece of image we will be providing you to ensure that you only get the best works of art.

Can I order more prints?

Yes, of course!
Should you wish to order prints, simply send us an e-mail with your selections. You can do this once you have finalized which images you want to purchase.

I love the prints we got from you. Can I also order prints of our images not from your sessions?

Yes, of course!
Simply send us a high resolution copy of the images you want to be printed and let us know in which print product you want it on.

If you didn't find the answer to your question above, feel free to send us a message.
